Pediatric and School Vision Examinations

Vision examinations for children are different than adult exams - Dr. Mark spends extra time looking for ocular disease(s) specific to children, as well as screens for binocular vision disorders, learning and vision related problems, progressive nearsightedness, and even fits contact lenses on children when necessary. It is important to find any disease in children as early as possible to achieve the best possible outcome. The American Optometric Association recommends that children have an eye exam every year (same as adults) for a vision and eye health screening (not just glasses!).

We use the least invasive equipment (say goodbye to the “puff-test”), and do everything we can to maintain a comfortable, safe, trusting environment for your children.

North Park Family Vision gladly fills out CPS school forms and can give school notes if necessary. See the “downloads” tab to print a school form, or we can print it for you in the office!

We are also a member of InfantSee, which provides children under 6 months of age with a free eye exam. Please call with any questions or to book an appointment.
