FAQ

What iNsURANCE DO YOU TAKE?

Currently, we are in network with VSP and most EyeMed plans for regular vision examinations. If there is a medical problem such as cataracts, glaucoma, red eyes, flashes of light or floaters in your vision, or loss of vision, the medical portion of the exam (not including glasses prescription) may be covered with Medicare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United, or Aetna health insurance plans. We are not in network with any Medicaid plans. If you have an HMO plan, you need a referal from your PCP. If you are out of network, you may bill the exam to your insurance payer as “out of network” and we can help give paperwork and guidance.

How long are eye exams?

Generally exams are 30-45 minutes long, and most spend about 20 minutes choosing frames and lens options after the exam has concluded.

Will there be a puff test?

At North Park Family Vision, we use a far less invasive eye pressure check that is child-friendly, and is very accurate and precise according to evidence-based studies.
